The 2nd week of Unit 2 brought further development to the ideas and agreements Team Persimmon constructed upon meeting. We worked efficiently through the reading and presentation; my partner, Getian, really shined this week as she both presented a detailed map in Keynote describing the information given in the coffee podcast, as well as finding our workplace for where we would conduct our interview.
My attempts at contacting stakeholders were unsuccessful, as the timing was too short of notice.
Renz Andres was our stakeholder, a photographer and manager at Leica, Mayfair. We conducted a nearly 3-hour discussion that deconstructed his work and personal life. Andres provided my team insight into the work culture he experiences on Bond Street, the method to the madness of balancing it all, and expressed his deep admiration for photography.
Had we found our jack? At times, yes. Renz spoke about the strength of his versatile portfolio, which paralleled the Leica store itself, featuring a wide-scale product range from cameras to projectors. Was it a coincidence that his personal work style mirrored the versatility of the product range and the store itself?
To work at the flagship store, you must be a fan of Leica, the art form itself, a gallery host, technician, and customer relations adviser. Were these the traits of the jack we envisioned, or are financial limitations found in capitalism responsible for overworked employees—those who have been forced into learning a wide skill set?
I look forward to releasing the recorded audio of our discussion as it can be considered a podcast due to its length.
